R & R policy 2007 |
The project affected has been categorized into 5 classes namely A, B, C, D and E. Further it is to mention here that DVC spends 2 % of its profit each year in different social integration programmes undertaken in adjoining areas normally within 10 km radius of the project. In this project the affected peoples under category A, B & C only exist and compensation will be made after categorization of the PAP’s by engaging a suitable consultant for the purpose. |

Ash utilization plan |
Already agreement with M/S Durga Hightech Cement, M/S Ultratech Cement Ltd, M/S Emami Cement Ltd & M/S Jagadamba Fiscal Services has been done. Two nos brick plants have been commissioned inside the plant premises. At present as the units are under construction we don’t provide ash for running the Brick plants. However, we have arranged necessary requirement of ash from MTPS, DVC. Approx. 30,000 nos bricks per day are being produced and the same is being utilized for Boundary wall works & other areas. |

Rain water harvesting |
A detailed scheme for rain water harvesting to recharge the ground water aquifers shall be prepared in consultation with Central Ground Water Authority/ State Ground Water Board and a copy of the same shall be submitted after completion of the same. Already the matter has been taken up with State Ground Water Board. The representative of State Ground Water Board visited the plant. Various data as required by them is being collected. Some building drawings are yet to receive. |

Management plan for Green belt area has been prepared in consultation with local DFO which will be executed through Forest Deptt, Govt. of West Bengal. Management plan has been placed before Board of Directors, DVC. Main thrust has been given to raise the plant on indigenous species. Few thousand of seedling has been planted around the project area through Forest Deptt, Govt. of West Bengal. Plantation created during 2009 will be maintained during this year with additional planting (gap filling), if required. We have observed 38th World Environment day on 5th June,2010 and planted some seedlings (Photo enclosed) and send messages to the local people towards awareness of environment. |

Environmental budget |
Total environmental budget is around 70 crores including cost of land but excluding cost of pollution control device like ESP, ETP, Water recycling plant etc. Total Project expenditure incurred upto May, 2010 is Rs. 3205.87 crores (approx). Expenditure towards environment management plans is yet to be taken up other than payment towards cost of land for creation of Green belt. |
