1.1 Permanent or temporary change in land use, land cover or topography including increase in intensity of land use (with respect to local land use plan) No The land is categorized as Educational Use Zone by LPA, Coimbatore. The site has already been declared as Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for IT/ITES companies by Dept. of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Govt. of India through its notification vide S.O. No. 564(E) dated 11.04.2007. Copy of the extract of Master Plan showing the land use classification & Notification declaring the site as SEZ is enclosed as Annexure - I. Hence there is no change in land use due to this project.
1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? No Since the existing land is vacant, no major clearance activities will take place. Only minor clearance activities will be carried out to remove the shrubs and weeds.
1.3 Creation of new land uses? No No creation of new land use as the site is vacant land & only IT building will be constructed.
1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? Yes Soil Testing has been done to find the suitability of soil for providing adequate foundations for the proposed structures and the copy of the report is given in Annexure - II.
1.5 Construction works? Yes Construction of the IT building will be done systematically.
1.6 Demolition works? No No demolition works will be carried out as the land is vacant
1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works or housing of construction workers? Yes Inside the proposed site, a small area will be utilized temporarily for construction of sheds for the migrated workers and materials. But most of the workers will be deployed from local area only.

Excavated material of 22,000 m3 will be used to level the site and excess will be disposed in designated site.

5.1 Emissions from combustion of fossil fuels from stationary or mobile sources Yes The gaseous emissions are expected from transport vehicles moving inside the project site. This will be minimized by controlling the speed of vehicles, hiring well maintained vehicles, planting trees and spraying water periodically. Emissions are expected from DG Sets during operation phase. The DG Sets shall be provided with acoustic enclosure for noise control and adequate height of stack to disperse the emission.

5.3 Emissions from materials handling including storage or transport Yes Emissions like dust will arise during the transportation of materials and the dust will be controlled by slow movement of vehicles, covering the materials properly and water spraying.
5.4 Emissions from construction activities including plant and equipment Yes Marginal quantity of emission is expected from construction activities which will be controlled by suitable control measures like water spraying.
5.5 Dust or odours from handling of materials including construction materials, sewage and waste Yes Dust emission will be arrested by water spraying and covering the stored materials with tarpaulin cover. Septic tanks & soak pit will be provided to treat the sewage during construction phase.
