5.1 Emissions from combustion of fossil fuels from stationary or mobile sources Yes Emission is envisaged from proposed captive power plant for which high efficient ESP is proposed along with stack of adequate height. Emission is expected to generate from Diesel Generators which are provided with adequate height of stack and acoustic enclosure as per CPCB norms.
5.2 Emissions from production processes Yes The pollutants in the form of particulates and gases are generated from various parts of the steel complex. Adoption of technology like recovery of dust / ash for re-use as raw material is fulfilling the twin objectives of material conservation and pollution control. Wet scrubbers, bag filters and ESP are also provided as APC measures. The stack emissions shall be maintained within the prescribed levels and the AAQ levels shall be maintained as per the prescribed limit as being done now.
5.3 Emissions from materials handling including storage or transport Yes Adequate mitigation measures will be adopted.
5.4 Emissions from construction activities including plant and equipment Yes Emission is envisaged is during construction of proposed power plant which will be suitably controlled.
5.5 Dust or odours from handling of materials including construction materials, sewage and waste Yes During operation stage, the transport vehicles shall be covered with tarpaulin while handling sand. Generation of odor in the STP is insignificant. Dust emission if any will be arrested by water spraying. Covering the stored materials with tarpaulin cover during construction stage.

8.1 From explosions, spillages, fires etc from storage, handling, use or production of hazardous substances Yes We have identified all the probable hazards from our operations and necessary control measures are documented to prevent any type of emergencies like spillage, fire, and occupational emergencies like injuries, electrical shock, drowning, fall from height, etc. Fire hazard is identified at storage and use of coal and petroleum products at storage area, generator rooms, induction furnaces and ladle heating stations.
8.2 From any other causes Yes Spillage of hot metal from furnace due to lining failure is identified. The above mentioned hazards are having control measures for prevention and mitigation plans are in place, in case of an accident. Mock drills are being conducted at regular intervals to test the preparedness for the emergencies.

No The study area falls under Seismic Zone-III according to the Indian Standard Seismic Zoning Map as on April 2011. So there is less chance for earthquakes in the region.
