Besides these, emergency response plan will be in place towards meeting unforeseen emergencies. Trained personnel will be handling such materials and care will be taken so that spills are avoided and in case of spills, immediately they are contained.

At regular intervals disinfectants will be applied to restrict vector growth. Suitable drainage and waste management measures will be adopted during construction Phase. This will effectively restrict the reproduction and growth of disease vectors. Medical facilities will be in place to look after the health of inmates of the camp sites.
3.3 Affect the welfare of people e.g. by changing living conditions? Yes Project will increase transport facilities in Odisha and West Bengal and boosts the industrial sector and tourism by faster connectivity & improves the opportunities to locals and also increase revenue. The project benefits to local people during construction & operation stage. Apart from better mode and frequency, access to quality health care, educational and infrastructural facilities will increase economic activities like agro industries by improving various business opportunities.
3.4 Vulnerable groups of people who could be affected by the project e.g. hospital patients, children, the elderly etc. Yes The proposed project corridor passes plain terrain and the predominant land observed is agriculture followed by barren/waste land and built-up. There are no schools, hospitals and other sensitive receptors along the alignment. However, precautionary measures will be taken to avoid any negative impact due to increased traffic, noise levels and possibility of accidents. The proposed Highway would help the patients to approach to the hospital with minimum time and cost.

4.1 Spoil, overburden or mine wastes Yes Spoil, overburden or mine waste will be generated during raw materials extraction and their processing. All these materials will be consumed for rehabilitation of borrow areas or filling of low lying/disfigured waste lands.

Final surface will be made up from top soil rich in NPK will be layered to receive grass/vegetation.

Hot mix plant will be operated as per the regulatory limits of OSPCB/WBPCB.

Vehicles delivering loose and fine materials will be covered with tarpaulins sheets. Tail boards will be provided and fixed firmly to prevent spillage. Crushers will be operated as per OSPCB/WBPCB guidelines. Septic tank with soak pits will be used to prevent foul odour. Disinfectants will be applied towards abating odor.
