1.1 Permanent or temporary change in land use, land cover or topography including increase in intensity of land use (with respect to local land use plan) Yes Most part of pit is water logged due to accumulation of rain water from years together, since the mine was closed. Manganese ore body is submerged in this water-logged pit at the bottom and still continuing at depth. After the life of the mine, the mine will be closed as per progressive mining closure plan. All IBM & DGMS rules and specifications will be followed.
1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? Yes There are no permanent structures like buildings roads within the Mining lease area. Vegetation which consists of thorns and bushes, is sparse in the mining lease area. This vegetation will be cleared to enable mining activities.
1.3 Creation of new land uses? Yes The pit formation after complete extraction of Mn ore will be reclaimed as per guideline of approved Mining Plan.
1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? No Pre-construction investigations will be carried out.
1.5 Construction works? No No mining activity will be taken-up without obtaining the prior Environmental clearance.
1.6 Demolition works? No No buildings exist in the proposed mining area. Hence no demolition work will be involved.
1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works or housing of construction workers? No Construction activity is very limited. The required labour force for construction will be taken from the local areas only. Hence no housing/temporary sites are proposed for construction workers.

This will help in recharging the precious ground water which results in increase in ground water table. A fence will be constructed around the pit to prevent any accidental entry/fall into it.
