Industry has already taken initiative towards green belt development in Industry premises.

Soil is observed to be slight reddish brown to dark brown in colour with fairly good drainage. It is clay loam in texture, fine in structure and alkaline in reaction. Detailed Soil Testing of the industrial premises as well as 10 KM area surrounding the project site would be done in order to assess the existing soil quality. The results of same would also be reflected in final EIA report.

No major construction would be done since most of infrastructure would be used from existing unit like Admin Building, Common Utility, Canteen, Mill House, Evaporator House etc. In existing premises, equipments and machineries as required for proposed expansion unit would be installed.

Here harvested cane from near by areas shall be used as raw material for sugar factory while by-product molasses from sugar factory shall be used as raw material for distillery unit and bagasse to the co-gen plant boiler for generation of electricity. For the storage of sugar, godowns are provided on site while that of molasses and rectified spirit also storage tanks have been provided. Additional storage arrangement shall be done after expansion activities in sugar, distillery and Co-gen unit. These proposed storage arrangement shall be done on land area which is already reserved for storage activities in the premises. Hence, there shall not be any impact on existing topography, landuse. Refer Additional attachment for plot layout.

Under expansion, solid waste - boiler ash would be sold to brick manufacturers & used for compost production. ETP sludge would be used as manure in factory premises. Other effluents from distillery shall be forwarded to sugar factory ETP. Domestic effluent shall be treated in proposed STP.

5.1

Under expansion activity, two high pressure boilers of 50 & 90 TPH for Sugar, Co-gen & distillery unit will be installed. Bagasse- 22.1 MT/Hr & 39.6 MT/Hr respectively would be used as fuel. Proposed boilers will be provided with Wet scrubber, preceding the stack of 65 M & 75 M height respectively as APC. Boilers in existing cogen unit of 70 TPH is provided with wet scrubber as APC equipment followed by stack of 72 M.

From the sugar manufacturing operations as well as co-gen plant there would be no any process emissions. There would be process emissions in the form CO2 & air from Fermenters in distillery unit. The CO2 from Fermenters to the tune of 22.6 MT/M release in atmosphere.

Source of noise in the JSL would be cane carrier, turbines, mills, pumps, centrifuge, compressors and boiler house. Trucks/tractors will be used for transportation of sugarcane and raw material as well as finished product. Noise generated from transportation is a fleeting source. To control the air emissions from the boiler, Wet scrubber followed by stack of adequate height shall be provided as Air Pollution Control (APC) Equipment. This will prevent deposition of fly ash on Land or any other surface; hence there would be no any nuisance to the surrounding area.
