For Distillery: Continuous fermentation/Fed batch method to ferment molasses into alcohol, which is distilled in a multistage distillation/pressure vacuum column, system The major units for Grain based distillery are Grain Handling and Milling Section, Slurry Preparation and Liquefaction, Yeast Propagation and Fermentation, Multi pressure Distillation.

5.1 Emissions from combustion of fossil fuels from stationary or mobile sources Yes Gaseous emission from fuel burning, which consists of common pollutants like those that SO2, NOx, PM10 and PM2.5 would be discharged into atmosphere through stacks of suitable height. The D.G. sets will also have adequate stack height. The emissions will be limited through Electro Static Precipitator (ESP) having 99.98% efficiency.

All type raw materials & products will be received, stored and transported in closed containers; hence, release of pollutants to the air will be negligible. Particulate emission will be envisaged from ash handling system. Water sprinkling will be frequently carried out in ash handling area.
5.4 Emissions from construction activities including plant and equipment Yes Particulate emission in the form of dust due to vehicular traffic will be envisaged during construction phase. It will be controlled by regular water sprinkling in dust born area and within plant premises.
5.5 Dust or odours from handling of materials including construction materials, sewage and waste Yes The emissions are negligible which will be only due to transportation activities. The construction activities will also involve negligible emissions, as most of the work will be of fabrication and erection of structures only and proper mitigation measures would be taken to reduce it further.
5.6 Emissions from incineration of waste Yes Emissions from incineration boilers are anticipated and main pollutant would be PM10 and PM2.5, some SO2 and NOx emission. However Electrostatic precipitator (ESP) will be installed as air pollution control equipment.

Proper noise abatement measures will be taken and persons working close to machine and machine operators will be provided with personal protective equipment viz. 6.2 From industrial or similar processes Yes The sources of noise generation in the proposed project will be TG, boiler, and compressors etc. Ambient noise levels will be accordance with MoEF notification dated 14-02-2000, i.e. noise levels will be < 75 dB (A) during daytime and < 70 dB (A) during nighttime.
6.3 From construction or demolition Yes Construction equipment will cause some noise. Earplugs will be provided to construction workers who work near the noise generating equipment. Construction activity will be carried out in day time only.
6.4 From blasting or piling No There is no piling or blasting involved.
6.5 From construction or operational traffic Yes About 65 – 70 dB(A) There will be momentary increase in the noise level due to traffic during construction phase, as roads will bring lot of construction material. Similarly, operation phase will also add to some noise generation from loading/ unloading operation and from transportation of finished goods. However, to control noise generation within the prescribed standard, all the vehicles carrying goods will be checked for fitness and certification from RTO.
6.6 From lighting or cooling systems No Adequate control and mitigation measures will be initiated to avoid the release or generation of noise, vibration, or emission of light and heat.

All conveyors will be completely covered with GI sheets. Coal in coal yard and ash will be stored in silos under shed. Proper care will be taken to reduce dust emission, wherever possible.

7.5 Is there a risk of long term build up of pollutants in the environment from these sources? No During process of manufacturing, storage, handling or transportation, no emission will take place, as the manufacturing process is a closed process. The emission of pollutants into the air will dispersed the pollutants due to wind. Hence, there is no possibility of pollutants getting built-up. To avoid such risk, regular ambient as well as workplace monitoring will be performed periodically to assess the concentration of individual pollutants to initiate required control measures if any.
