There would be no change in land use pattern since establishment of distillery & expansion of sugar factory & cogen plant will be carried out in existing premises. In same premises, only equipments and machineries as required for proposed expansion would be installed. Under proposed establishment of distillery, infrastructure like fermentation tanks, distillation columns, spentwash storage tanks, alcohol storage tanks, incineration boiler shed, cooling towers etc. would be built on site.

Additional storage arrangement like more godowns, molasses & alcohol storage tanks etc. shall be done under expansion on land area which is already reserved for expansion project. Yes Under expansion; ETP shall be upgraded, MEE, spentwash tanks, ash storage silos, incineration boiler, CPU etc. will be constructed. This will make some minor changes in existing topography in the form of land leveling, cutting and filling etc. Treated effluent from sugar factory ETP shall be supplied for irrigation. No spentwash shall go in environment as incineration is ZLD facility.

No hazardous chemical as per MSIHC rules would be used in processes. Product - Ethyl alcohol is hazardous as per MSIHC rules. Same will be stored as per provisions of MSIHC rules.

Moreover, after expansion as well as establishment of the project, industry would hire qualified doctors to carry out regular health checkups of every worker. Also, record w.r.t same would be maintained on site. Programs related to health and hygiene will be arranged and workshops as well as seminars would be conducted in industry to create awareness.
3.3 Affect the welfare of people e.g. by changing living conditions? Yes Already due to existing sugar factory and co-gen plant; PDDYPSSKL provided employment to the local resident which has resulted in upgrading the living standard of people. Further, after commissioning of the proposed expansion, there would be a positive impact on the social and economic status of local people due to direct and indirect employment opportunities. This will help to improve life style of local people in surrounding area.

ESP as APC along with a stack of 75 M height. 1 DG set of capacity 320 KVA is already installed on site. Under proposed establishment of distillery an incineration boiler of 25 TPH will be installed. ESP will be installed to the same as APC. One T.G set will be installed.
5.2 Emissions from production processes Yes From sugar manufacturing operations as well as co-gen plant there would be no any process emissions. From proposed distillery there would be process emissions from fermenters in the form CO2 @ 79.2 MT/D. This CO2 would be collected, purified, compressed and filled in cylinders that would be sold out for production of beverages. Thus, no any problems to the surrounding area would be created due to the Air Pollution aspect
5.3 Emissions from materials handling including storage or transport Yes Negligible amount of emissions would be generated from storage or transport in the form of dust.
5.4 Emissions from construction activities including plant and equipment Yes Dust would be generated during construction activity. Same shall be curbed by sprinkling water in premises. Also, during assembling the pre fabricated structure of tank & column there may be emissions from welding activity. But same may be negligible & temporary.
5.5 Dust or odours from handling of materials including construction materials, sewage and waste Yes Molasses and spentwash are putrifiable substances. Hence, if GMP are not followed then it may lead to odor nuisance

7.1 From handling, storage, use or spillage of hazardous materials No Ethanol, the product of distillery is a hazardous chemical as per MSIHC rules. Same will be stored on site as per OISD standards. Handling of alcohol will be done through closed and automatic system. Also, fire frightening system and Dyke walls will be provided around alcohol storage tank.

Domestic effluent from complex @53 CMD would be treated in proposed as well as existing STP.
7.3 By deposition of pollutants emitted to air into the land or into water No ESP along with stack of 75 M height is provided to existing boiler. Under proposed establishment of distillery an incineration boiler of capacity 25 TPH will be installed. ESP will be providing to the same along with adequate height of stack as APC. This will prevent deposition of fly ash on Land or any other surface; hence there would be no any nuisance to the surrounding area.
