1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? Yes Qualitative & Quantitative ecological assessment of the complete project site has been carried out. There are different types of trees and different varieties of shrubs, herbs, grass, climbers & old sheds/structures existing at site. For the development of the proposed project, there will be clearance of existing old structures/sheds & some of the existing trees & different varieties of shrubs, herbs, grass, climbers.

Ltd., Kochi, As per the soil investigation report, the water table in the project site varies from 0.30 m. to 30.0 m. from the ground level at different locations.

Bricks and steel will be stacked in open within the individual plot. For the infrastructure developmental works, the construction materials required will be stored within the common area
1.15 Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? Yes Construction phase :- Municipal solid waste generation from the project site including the labour colony during construction phase will be about 1.44 Ton/day and domestic sewage would be about 0.227 MLD. The non-biodegradable waste and other packaging material would be sold to the vendors. The bio-degradable solid waste would be disposed in a bio-gas generation plant and the bio-gas generation would be utilized in the labour colony.
1.16 Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? Yes The proposed project is an I.T. (SEZ) township project with I.T. office buildings and other utilities. Accommodation facility in the name of low income group residential apartments would be constructed within the project site to accommodate the operational workers.
1.17 New road, rail or sea traffic during construction or operation? Yes A public road passing through Land-B of the project site is already re-aligned to the eastern side of the project site and the land for the re-alignment of the road is provided by SCK. Also, in order to promote water transport, provision for boat jetty within the project premises along the water body would be constructed. In addition, the department of Water Transport is establishing Boat jetty in the vicinity of SmartCity project.
1.18 New road, rail, air water borne or other transport infrastructure including new or altered routes and stations, ports, airports etc? Yes A public road passing through Land-B of the project site is already re-aligned to the eastern side of the project site and the land for the re-alignment of the road is provided by SCK. Also, in order to promote water transport, provision for boat jetty within the project premises along the water body would be constructed. It is proposed to construct a bridge across Kadambrayar connecting land parcel A and land parcel B.
1.19 Closure or diversion of existing transport routes or infrastructure leading to changes in traffic movements? Yes A public road passing through Land-B of the project site is already re-aligned to the eastern side of the project site and the land for the re-alignment of the road is provided by SCK. The Order in this regard G.O. (Rt) No. 250/2008/ITD. dt. 29-11-2008 and Proceedings of District Collector Ernakulam vide no. C4-32613/08 dt. 13-03-2012 is passed.
1.20 New or diverted transmission lines or pipelines? Yes There is E.H.T. lines passing through the site (Land B in east direction). The clearance (horizontal) distance required as per the rules would be left from the underground gas pipe line (wherever available) and clearance as per ‘Central Electricity Authority’ guidelines for HT & EHT Overhead Transmission line shall be followed.
1.21 Impoundment, damming, culverting, realignment or other changes to the hydrology of watercourses or aquifers? Yes The land for the proposed development is in three parcels of land (Land-A, Land-B & Land-C). The project site is separated by a water body viz. Kadambrayar River. For connecting of each parcel of land, appropriate culverting / bridges would be constructed. Culvert would be constructed above the marshy land in land parcel B. The existing ponds (in land A) and (in land B) would be retained.
1.22 Stream crossings? Yes The land for the proposed development is in three parcels of land (Land-A, Land-B & Land-C). The land separation is by a water body viz. Kadambrayar River. For connecting to each parcel of land, stream crossings, pedestrian / cycle track over bridges would be constructed. Also, appropriate bridge in land C where a water channel crossing the site which is connected to the Kadambrayar would be constructed.

7.1 From handling, storage, use or spillage of hazardous materials No Used Oil from the D.G. Sets will be stored in HDPE drums and will be kept at a separate place and sold to CPCB approved recyclers. Therefore there is no risk of contamination due to used oil. The storage of used oil will be in such a way that no spillage of hazardous materials.
7.2 From discharge of sewage or other effluents to water or the land (expected mode and place of discharge) No The domestic sewage which will be generated during the construction phase & operation phase will be treated through proposed de-centralized Sewage Treatment Plant to be developed within the premises. Hence there is no discharge of sewage. The hospital effluent and laundry waste water will be treated through separate effluent treatment plant and hence there is no discharge of any untreated effluent to the water body or to the land.

During construction all the labours will be provided with suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) as required under the health & safety norms.
