Out of this approval for diversion of 8.242 Ha area has been obtained from Forest Department vide letter no. 12(21)5/2002-FCE dated 3rd August, 2009. PP has uploaded past production details since 1993-94 alongwith clarification of presence of Elephant Corridor in Saranda region, it is, however, noted that mine lease was granted in 1972. The Consent to Establish from 39,000 TPA to 74,000 TPA is obtained in 2009. It is not clear whether the PP had valid consents prior to 2009. Hence, PP is once again requested to upload all consent to operate (CTO) obtained from SPCB since start of mining operations to ascertain the coverage of proposal under Supreme court Judgment dated 02.08.2017 else proposal will be examined based on available information. Also, as per PP’s submissions, the lease area falls in core zone of Singhbhum Elephant Reserve; however, NBWL clearance is not applicable. The Committee suggested that Ministry may seek clarification in this regard from Wildlife Division/ Project Elephant Scheme. In view of the above, the proposal was deferred. 05 Sep 2017
