1.1 Permanent or temporary change in land use, land cover or topography including increase in intensity of land use (with respect to local land use plan) Yes The lease area is Dangri river bed and mining is restricted up to 3-meter depth on river bed. Minor minerals will be replenished after monsoon season to almost equal to excavated level hence the ultimate land use of the mine area will not change after systematic and scientific mining.
1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? No Clearing of vegetation and building is not required at project site some bushes / grass which grows in the river bed will be removed to facilitating mining.
1.3 Creation of new land uses? No All the mining activity will be confined to the mining lease area, that will be replenish after the monsoon due to sediments flow. Thus, no new land use will be created.
1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? No Proposed project is intended for mining Boulder, Gravel and sand already lying in the river bed section and clearly visible and being replenished on year on year basis. As mineral is Boulder, Gravel and Sand there is no need of mineral investigation by bore holes. Soil testing will be done for baseline study after getting ToR for EIA EMP report preparation.
1.5 Construction works? No The opencast semi-mechanized mining in the river bed does not involve any construction work. The opencast mechanized working in the outside river bed does not involve any construction work.
1.6 Demolition works? No Not applicable as area is barren river bed /waste land.
1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works or housing of construction workers? No Temporary sites located on the bank with in the mining lease area will be used for construction of temporary structures like mine office, stores, workshops, rest-shelters etc. As the local labor will be employed, there is no proposal for making housing arrangements.
1.8 Above ground buildings, structures or earthworks including linear structures, cut and fill or excavations and fill or excavations No Excavation is proposed as per mining plan being an open cast mine.
1.9 Underground works including mining or tunnelling? No There will be no underground mining activities. The mining will be done by Open Cast Semi-Mechanized Method.

1.12 Offshore structures? No Not applicable as no offshore structures.
1.13 Production and manufacturing processes? No The minor mineral Boulder, Gravel and sand will be extracted from the River bed section by adopting semi-mechanized open caste mining method by deploying earth mover/ excavator for loading into trucks, tippers and tractor trolleys. No manufacturing process is implicated and the extracted mineral will be transported directly to the market.
1.14 Facilities for storage of goods or materials? No Mineral excavated will be loaded directly to trucks for transportation. Hence no storage facility will be required.
1.15 Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? No There is no overburden generation however soil generation due to seasonal flow of river will be excavated from mining lease, which will be used for plantation along the bank of river or as per mine plan. The liquid effluent will be generated from the utility (washrooms) and will be treated through septic tank and soak pits.
1.16 Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? No Labour will be hired from nearby villages locally and all the worker for mining will be residing in the nearby villages and no onsite labour colony has been proposed.
1.17 New road, rail or sea traffic during construction or operation? No Not applicable as the present infrastructure is sufficient to cater the present need.

8.3 Could the project be affected by natural disasters causing environmental damage (e.g. floods, earthquakes, landslides, cloudburst etc)? Yes Topography of the contact lease lying in river plain is such that it can be affected due to disaster in the form of flash flood during monsoon period. During monsoon period no mining activities have been envisaged thus the probability of risk to the mine worker is very less. The contact area lies within Seismic Zone -IV as per seismic zoning map of India (IS:1893-2002). The mine area doesn’t contain any structures so that landslides can take place.
9 Factors which should be considered (such as consequential development) which could lead to environmental effects or the potential for cumulative impacts with other existing or planned activities in the locality

  • Supporting infrastructure (roads, power supply, waste or waste water treatment, etc.)
  • housing development
  • extractive industries
  • supply industries
  • Other
Yes To transport mineral new haul road will be constructed to connect nearby link road to the nearest river bank in each mining block as required. The supply of boulder, gravel and sand minor mineral shall increase due to mining activity. The increase in quantity of extracted mineral for supply shall in turn lead to increase in transportation.
9.2 Lead to after-use of the site, which could have an impact on the environment No Proposed site is replenishable during monsoon to almost equal to extracted level hence the ultimate land use of the mine lease area will not change after systematic and scientific mining. The mine site will be filled with soil carried from nearest areas by project proponent and trees will be planted on it; hence the ultimate land use of the mine lease area will not change after mining activity.
9.3 Set a precedent for later developments Yes River bed mining will be channelized the river flow and the present deposition are of good quality and can be used for building infrastructure.
9.4 Have cumulative effects due to proximity to other existing or planned projects with similar effects No Other leases for sand mining in the other reached of the river in the district have been allotted. There will be increase in road traffic due to mineral transportation. Cumulative impact due to traffic and mining will be assessed during EIA Study.
