1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? Yes It is an existing operative mine over an area under mining 7.3510 ha out of 280.7686 Ha. Additional requirement during modified mining plan period will be 4.1648 Ha. Thus, total land use at the end of modified mining plan period will be 11.5158 ha during plan period (01-05-2018 to 31-03-2022). The land is devoid of any major vegetation cover and appears barren hence, marginal vegetation clearance involved in the project. The vegetation in ML area in the form of bushes grown over barren area.
1.3 Creation of new land uses? Yes The mining lease of Mothala Balachod (280.7686 ha.) comprises of two blocks of high grade Bauxite minerals having single ownership. The mining lease area is mineral bearing and the entire area is under active mining zone. As on date 7.3510 Ha. Area under mining with green belt developed in 3.2190 Ha. Waste dump site spreads in 1.3771 Ha. Mineral storage in 7.7500 Ha. Admin building in 0.1839 Ha and road in 1.563 Ha. Whereas, 259.3246 Ha. Will be used in future for mining and allied activity.

Manufacturing Process: The mining is being carried out by semi mechanized open cast method involving removal of top soil/Reject/overburden, shallow hole drilling, blasting, mechanized excavation combined with manual sorting and loading and transportation by small to medium size excavator (Bucket capacity around 1 Cum.) and dumper, are in use.
1.14 Facilities for storage of goods or materials? Yes The top soil would be scrapped and stacked separately and will be utilized for plantation purpose. The stacking would be for a temporary duration and the soil thus stacked will be used in re-vegetation/plantation schemes.

Yes No toxic effluent or solid waste is generated from the mines, quality of soil in the surrounding areas does not have any adverse impact. The top soil has been scrapped and stacked separately and is being utilized for plantation purpose. The stacking would be for a temporary duration.
1.16 Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? Yes It is existing operative Bauxite mineral mine. At present following site facilities are available in the ML area. • A mine office is already present in the lease area for keeping the records and supervision by mines manager. • A rest shelter for resting of laborers during lunch interval. • A water hut for drinking water facility for employees. • A first aid kit provided in the office for giving first aid to the injured persons, if any. • Separate urinals for men and women.
