5.1 Emissions from combustion of fossil fuels from stationary or mobile sources No No fossil fuels will be used for proposed project operation. Only Air emissions comprising of PM, NO2 & SO2 are anticipated from the operation of DG sets which will be used for power back-up during emergency only. In the proposed expansion project incineration boiler of 175 TPH will be installed for meeting the steam requirement of distillery and co-generation plant. Concentrated will be used as boiler fuel. Adequate air pollution control system viz., ESP and dust collectors will be installed for minimizing air pollution due to operation of boilers.
5.3 Emissions from materials handling including storage or transport Yes All fugitive emissions will be controlled by way of Water Spraying during material / bagasse handling.
5.4 Emissions from construction activities including plant and equipment Yes Fugitive Emissions during construction activities will be controlled, restricting storage area of materials & truck movements.
5.5 Dust or odours from handling of materials including construction materials, sewage and waste Yes Transfer of Molasses through Pipelines and Tankers and spillage is carefully controlled. Adoption of Effluent Treatment involving Raw Spent Wash (RSW) Evaporation (MEE) followed by complete Incineration. Concentrating RSW from 15-18% to upto 55-60% w/w solids with implementation of Multi-Effect Evaporator and complete Incineration of the same in a specially designed Incineration Boiler and hence achievement of Zero Liquid Spent Wash Discharge.
