NA	53.4.3 The Committee, after detailed deliberations (in the 53rd meeting on 17th-18th March, 2016) noted the following: (i) Public hearing for the washery was on 15th February, 2016 at village Chharla under Kushraloi, G.P under Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district. From the details of the public hearing forwarded to the Ministry it appears that public hearing was incomplete as almost everybody had gone out of the public hearing in protest. As per the documents sent to the Minstry, the views expressed by nine speakers in the meeting were as follows. 6.	ADS Letter	1.8.4 : While deliberations, the Committee observed that the yield of the washery would be only 78.7%. Therefore, the rejects generated by the washery will be approximately 2.13 MTPA. The storage of such a huge quantity of rejects may lead to spontaneous combustion and thus pose environmental hazards. For effective utilization of rejects, firm line of action on signing of Memorandum of Understanding with the potential consumers would be required. The same was the requirement of the ToR issued for the project, but not yet complied by the project proponent. 1.8.5 : The Committee, after detailed deliberations, was not inclined to consider the proposal for want of the desired inputs, as stated in para 1.8.4 above.
